COMPUTER games fans from across the country are heading to Spalding this weekend in a bid to topple 25 high score world records.
Game Link, a computer games shop in Holbeach Road, is hosting the event, ‘Mission is Possible’.
Shop owner Martin Murphy advertised the event on YouTube and then sent out 25 ‘retro’ games so players would have three months’ practice before going for the records.
Videos of successful record attempts will be sent to the website Twin Galaxies, the official world record keeper of computer games scores.
Mr Murphy said he got the idea after watching a documentary about record attempts for an old computer game favourite, Donkey Kong.
Games played this weekend will include After Burner, Desert Strike and Crazy Taxi and they will be played on machines ranging from an old Atari to a PlayStation 2.
