MEMORIES of the Queen’s 1953 Coronation were shared when clients and staff of Action Homecare enjoyed a jubilee tea party at Gedney Victory Hall.

Thirty people who receive home care from the organisation attended the tea and talked about their memories of a day just as wet as the Diamond Jubilee we have just enjoyed.

Action Homecare manager Janice Gant said: “It was interesting to listen to their stories of Coronation day. Most people seemed to remember the Queen of Tonga being at the celebrations and getting very wet. Most watched it at the Long Sutton cinema because they didn’t have televisions.”

The party included a sing-along led by Janice’s husband John.
