Reticulated pythons, about 12 feet long and ten inches in circumference, and lots of tarantulas... the kids are going to love the Reptile Show at Baytree Garden Centre, Weston, on Saturday (10am).

Don’t worry, the pythons don’t sting –but they are constrictors, although Stuart Robinson, who runs the reptile department, says they are “lovely really”.

The eight-legged friends on display are venomous, but it’s just like a bee-sting, says Stuart, who adds the ones they have are “really docile”.

Children will love the Panther chameleons that change colour according to their temperature and mood.

Bourne vet Sarah Pellet is judging pets taken to the show. Entry is free.
