The ‘darling buds of May’ are in full flower, the sun is finally due to shine so now is the perfect time for a traditional garden party.

Go along to the 17th century Guanock House and gardens in Guanockgate, Sutton St Edmund, on Saturday for an old fashioned May fete (1pm).

As well as Morris dancers and maypole dancing, there will be a selection of stalls, a vintage fire engine, an arts and crafts marquee plus children’s games such as a coconut shy.

Tea and cake will be available and visitors will be able to saunter around the lovely grounds designed by Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist and Best in Show winner Arne Maynard.

Entry is £3 on the gate and free to children.
