A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling from the roof of a care home he was working at in Bourne today.
The workman was injured at Wood Grange Care Home, Westminster Lane, after falling from a roof at about 9am and he was treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: ““We received a call at 9.04am to Wood Grange Care Home regarding a male who had fallen from a roof.
“An EMAS vehicle arrived on scene followed by the Air Ambulance who transported the patient to Queens Medical Centre.” A spokesman for Barchester Healthcare, owners of the home, said: “We took immediate action to alert the emergency services and an investigation is already underway in conjunction with the relevant authorities. “Our thoughts are with the man and his family.”
