A motorist has been charged with drink driving after being stopped in Spalding as part of ‘Operation Blackwater’.
Michael Hornick was arrested for the offence on Alexandra Road, Spalding yesterday (Tuesday).
It is alleged that at the time of the offence his alcohol level per 100 millilitres of breath was 70mcg. The legal alcohol limit is 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
Hornick will appear at Boston Magistrates court on January 21.
Since December 1 Lincolnshire police have been conducting an intelligence-led operation to identify drink drivers. Members of the public are encouraged to report habitual drink drivers by texting the word “DRINK” to 80800 followed by details of the vehicle and when and where it will occur.

Highly visible and well signed road checks will be in operation across the county. Checks will be carried out in early morning, evening and night time.
Anyone who is charged with drink driving during the campaign will be named publicly.
The total number of people charged so far in December with drink driving offences is 37.
