Man, 57, suffers skull fracture in Cowbit crash

UPDATE FRIDAY 1PM: A man seriously injured in a road crash in Cowbit has suffered a fractured skull, police have confirmed today.

The 57-year-old man from the Lincoln area was injured when his car left the Barrier Bank road and ran into a field at about 8.30am.

He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by ambulance and is still being treated there, but a Lincolnshire Police spokeswoman said his condition was stable.

THURSDAY 5.30PM: Police say a man was seriously hurt in this morning’s accident on Barrier Bank, Cowbit, when a car ran off the road into a field.

The air ambulance was scrambled, but the casualty – a man of 57 from the Lincoln area – was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by road ambulance.

The accident happened at about 8.30am and the A1073 was closed at its junction with James Road for some time.
