EIGHT women from Spalding raised more than £2,000 on Sunday by taking on the 5k Race for Life at Peterborough.
The money goes to Cancer Research.
More than 3,000 people put on their trainers to support the event.
Elaine Allen, who organised the Spalding entry, was one of two from the team to finish in the top 50 – the next four came within the first 200 and two power-walkers finished within an hour.
Elaine said: “Times and finishing positions matter not. The point of the day was to have fun and raise an amazing amount of money for an important cause.
“The girls would like to say a big thank you to all our wonderful friends and family who gave so generously and to Unique Computer Training who sponsored the team vests.”
