The focus was on fun at Spalding Baptist Church yesterday when families came together for crafts, games and the joy of a bouncy castle.

It was a “messy church day”, which means it’s okay for the little ones to make a mess as they get crafty on all sorts of projects.

The days are normally themed around a Bible story.

This time it was Jesus catching fish, so there was a boat in the hall and a net to take all of the hand-made fish from the busy little hands.

Boys’ Brigade captain Judy Taylor said around 30 attended – adults and children.

She said: “The children were making sunglasses, which they were decorating.”

Helpers were learning as much as they were teaching because the young loom bands fans were out in force.

Judy said: “They taught us how to make all sorts of things.”

The children also enjoyed skittles and badminton.
