ORGANISERS of a two-day exhibition in Long Sutton commemorating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations have hailed the event a success.

Hundreds of visitors went to the Market House for the exhibition of photographs, magazines and other memorabilia from jubilees and coronations over the last 115 years.

The exhibition included photographs taken during diamond jubilee events in Long Sutton last month, as well as photographs from Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1897.

Father Jonathan Sibley, chairman of Long Sutton Jubilee Steering Group, said: “About 1,000 photographs were taken over the diamond jubilee weekend and we thought it would be good to show them at an exhibition.”
