PANTOMIME magic has arrived at Long Sutton Primary School.
Pupils in years one and two have been wowing their class mates, teachers and parents with their production of Cinderella.
Year two teacher Kei Bailey said: “They have been really excited. They’ve loved every minute of it.
“We went to see two pantos before Christmas with Aladdin at Sherringham and Sleeping Beauty in Spalding. The children were starting to learn about pantos, with the heroes and the booing and hissing.”
The children began working on the play in January, with year two pupils taking up cast roles and year one making up the chorus. The year two children were selected for their parts through an auditions process.
Preparations for the panto have been incorporated into the curriculum, with dances being taught in PE and speaking and line-learning being used in literacy lessons.
The script was written by Mr Bailey and the school’s Key Stage 1 team put it all together as directors.
“Parents have kindly made some wonderful outfits,” said Mr Bailey. “We’ve had some garish dresses for the ugly sisters and funny wigs, and Cinderella has a golden ball gown and glass slippers.”
