Long Sutton Holly’s life inspires songs for album

Have your say

The songs on Holly Spearing’s new album have been written in collaboration with her manager Andy Nicholls and joint producer Michal Gill.

Most of the ideas came from Holly and touch on events from her own life, such as Dark Valentine and Insomnia.

She will mainly be doing vocals on the album and playing some piano and guitar parts too.

However, she would like to have a go at writing her own song that will be a tribute to her dad, Michael.

Holly, who recently met Marilyn Manson at one of his shows, says of her rock chick persona: “I love really dramatic eye make-up and big hair and wearing black clothes and I have always listened to rock music. I listen to pop as well because I think it’s important to listen to different artists.”

Practice sessions are, naturally, fairly loud, and mum Donna has arranged to have a studio built in the garden to get the noise out of the house.

Rehearsal is essential as, once the album is released, Holly is going to be in demand as an artist both here and overseas.
