An engineer and manager with more than 60 years’ service between them are among workers honoured by food producer Bakkavor.

Multi-skilled engineer David Stearn and senior section manager Julie Gooderson were among 117 Bakkavor employees invited to a long service awards ceremony in Boston.

David started work at the company as an electrician 37 years ago, while Julie has been with Bakkavor for 25 years.

Guets who had worked for Bakkavor for five years or more were presented with gift vouchers and a long service certificate.

Shona Taylor, general manager of Bakkavor Fresh Meal Solutions, said: “These awards are an opportunity for the company to show its appreciation to long-serving employees for all their hard work and commitment.

“I was delighted to present long service awards to so many of our staff because it is their loyalty, valuable contributions and teamwork that has helped us in progressing so far.”
