A STANDARD bearer from Spalding says it will be “a real honour” to represent the Royal British Legion at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Graham Hewitt, of Claudette Avenue, will join in the remembrance parade on Saturday, November 12, after applying to the venue for the position.

Graham (42) has been a standard bearer for the Spalding branch of the Royal British Legion for the last year. Two weeks ago he also won the title of the Royal British Legion’s deputy standard bearer for Lincolnshire.

He said: “I just wanted to help as much as I can. When I became standard bearer I thought why not try and apply for the Royal Albert Hall. As it’s only my first year I didn’t think I’d stand a chance.”
