On Monday, Spalding Rotary Club, which has been active in the area for the last 78 years, merged with Welland Centenary Rotary Club, previously the newest club in the area.

The decision to combine the two groups was made with the hope of ensuring the continuation of their good work, with the average age of members at Welland Centenary being much younger than those at Spalding Rotary Club.
The occasion was made even more momentous by the presentation of cheques from the club to the Fenland branch of Riding for the Disabled, the Spalding Hospice Foundation, and LIVES First Responders, who were each awarded £1,500.
