SUNDAY will be a birthday to remember for Spalding’s Liz Wass.

She will be getting on her bike to cycle 55 miles as she turns 55 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Liz, a healthcare advisor at Boots in Spalding, is pedalling from the store in Hall Place to Heckington and back in a bid to raise at least £500 for the charity.

She said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is Boots’ charity for this year and everyone has been getting involved with fundraising.

“I said I knew what I could do and I have been training for the last 12 weeks.”

So far, Liz has collected about £350 in sponsorship.

She added: “Cancer is something which touches so many people and this is a great cause.”

Liz will be joined on the journey by training partner Lee Mills and some of her colleagues from Boots hope to cheer her on and collect extra funds from some of the pubs along the route.

She is hoping to complete the ride within five hours.

Anyone who would like to give towards Liz’s bike ride can leave donations at Boots in Spalding.
