GETTING ready to go to school is great fun if you’re a Little Treasure!
Little Treasures Nursery in Haverfield Road in Spalding has only been open since January 2010 but has just finished an expansion which has allowed the nursery to open a separate pre-school area with extra spaces available for the over-threes who are entitled to 15 hours of Government-funded nursery care.
The expansion has also enabled the nursery to offer its little treasures ‘free-flow play’, which manager Rebecca Genever explained means the youngsters can move freely indoors and outdoors, with practitioners working in both of these areas.
“It’s part of the curriculum to promote the benefits of outdoor play and is what happens in reception schools,” said Rebecca.
Youngsters of all ages are now well catered for, with the nursery for infants of six weeks upwards and a separate area to prepare for school and explore the free-flow environment of the new expansion.
Rebecca said: “It’s exciting for us to be expanding when we have been open just over a year. We have always promoted the fact we have free-flow indoors but being able to free-flow outdoors is a good thing.”
The nursery is now going to offer before and after school clubs, with a breakfast club for children who need to be dropped off at school and picked up later in the day, with activities available for them until they are collected by parents.
Rebecca says anyone is welcome to come for a look around, either by appointment (phone 01775 714224) or by just popping in.
