LIBRARY bosses say anyone with an overdue book can return it free of charge as part of a county-wide ‘amnesty’ period.
Throughout November our libraries will hold an amnesty, waiving the usual late return fees.
Jonathan Platt, head of Libraries and Heritage, said: “Often people will inadvertently forget to return a book, then worry about having to pay a fine.
“This amnesty is a chance to bring them back free of charge.
“It will also mean that these titles again become available for others, so everybody benefits.”
