Withdrawal will encourage fly-tipping

residents of Sutton Bridge, Long Sutton and surrounding areas face the real possibility of the cancellation of the Saturday morning rubbish and recycling skips.

The reason being that the county council is being forced to make savings in this area of £40,000 – a substantial figure of course, which unfortunately will be more than balanced by the extra costs incurred in the clearing up of the inevitable fly-tipping that will follow.

In Spalding, South Holland District councillor Roger Gamba-Jones is most rightly highlighting this very problem, and advocating a respect for your area programme.

I am afraid that the withdrawal of the skips from our villages will not encourage a similar programme.
