Why was letter written in English?
I RECEIVED a letter about putting out domestic refuse and recycling at the correct times.
We have been living in Juniper Crescent since the estate was built and are well aware of the collection times.
This letter would have been better written in Polish, Latvian or Lithuanian as in most cases these people will not have been able to read the letter and will not care even if they could.
The letters we receive about Bank Holiday collections also fall on deaf ears as every public holiday the bags are still there.
Over the past few years, the increasing number of immigrants renting properties down Juniper Crescent has coincided with an increase in the number of bin bags being put out early.
These bags are then split open by cats and rats and the whole place looks like a pig sty.
In the park there is a three-piece suite, TV and old mattress dumped. This has been there since the new year even though we have reported it to the council.
This all fits in nicely with the empty foreign beer cans that are strewn all over the place. What a wonderful view I have from my front window.

Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 02:06 PMAny foreigner who wants to stay in this country for more than 3 months should have a premanent address, paid employment and be made to attend English lessons at their own expense.( This last point should apply to all family members including the children) . If not they should be sent home without delay or appeal. We can't allow them to clog up our education sytem or health service any longer. We have to get tough as other countrys are.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 01:03 PMTo add to my comments below: it has always been possible to remove EU citizens from the UK on the following basis - Right of residence for more than three months The right of residence for more than three months remains subject to certain conditions. Applicants must: •either be engaged in economic activity (on an employed or self-employed basis); •or have sufficient resources and sickness insurance to ensure that they do not become a burden on the social services of the host Member State during their stay. The Member States may not specify a minimum amount which they deem sufficient, but they must take account of personal circumstances; •or be following vocational training as a student and have sufficient resources and sickness insurance to ensure that they do not become a burden on the social services of the host Member State during their stay; •or be a family member of a Union citizen who falls into one of the above categories.

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 12:59 PM@ Lazy Daisy - The right of free movement of EU citizens goes back into history well beyond Tony Blair and has it origins in European laws going back to 1964, a perior before Edward Heath took us into the EEC. What has happened in recent years is that east European countries who, in my opinion, were not ready to join the EU have sudddle found a source of higher earning in the west. Personally I''d not have let east european countries join the EU until wages and standards were up to western levels, this would have the stopped the mass immigration we now see. The actual final bit of legislation allowing total freedom of movement in the EU was agreed by Council Directive 68360EEC of 15 October 1968 stating abolition of restrictions on movement and residence within the Community for workers of Member States and their families
