Why I do not feel safe in town I have lived in all my life

Re: The DPPO order (Spalding Guardian, April 2).

I have lived in Spalding all my life but it has mainly been the last two years since I've been on crutches and have mobility and balance problems that I now feel highly frightened.

The problems I have faced are:

Teenagers (after school or lunchtime) shouting, skateboarding and biking through Market Place and in the area near Boots, on the pavements. I have had to ask on numerous occasions for them to not come straight towards me and at the last minute change direction.

Foreign and English people drinking around areas of Spalding. Hanging in gangs down Victoria Street, Hall Place, outside Boots and also leaving lots of empty cans/bottles on the benches near the water taxi.

I have seen human faeces, vomit and urine in areas such as shop doorways in Market Place, faeces down the alley at the back of HSBC bank and men urinating down the passageway near Mackays.

I have also seen human faeces near Wraps and Argos on Holland Market.

Drinkers, mainly foreign, near the twin bridges near the foreign shop and on the benches on the river bank.

Spalding seems to have dropped standards.

I no longer feel safe in Spalding.

I try not to go out after the shops have closed but even in the day time I feel I have to keep a good hold of my handbag.

I feel that one of these days I will end up losing my balance as I have nearly on several occasions with the bikers and skateboarders.
