We helped get his name on war memorial

WITH reference to your articles regarding Mr H Aistrup.

In November 2008 the branch committee of Long Sutton Royal British Legion initiated inquiries in respect of the addition of Mr Aistrup’s name to Long Sutton War Memorial.

After contacting the National Archives, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and consulting the Internet Ancestry Site, a letter was sent to Long Sutton Parish Council on February 12, 2009.

Subsequently, the parish council agreed to add Mr Aistrup’s name to the war memorial, which is in the process of being attended to.

I would mention that according to the 1891 England Census, Mr Aistrup had a number of siblings, so it is possible that some of his relatives still live in the area.
