Stop fretting, take action over drinking

WHILE local council officials worry themselves about such "important" issues as Mr Nick Revill's green door, or the proposed Wimpy sign in Market Place, as a local business rates payer, I really find such antics a total waste of time and resources.

On numerous recent occasions l have taken business guests into town only to have to step aside to avoid beer drinking “adults” sipping from cheap lager cans either in Red Lion Street or Hall Place, to name the most obvious.

Have council officials not stopped to think what an offensive and “down market” image this portrays to visitors to the town?

Rather than fretting about Mr Revill’s green door, or the size of the proposed Wimpy sign (which would only help to create an amenity and valuable jobs in the town), perhaps the said officials should look around at adjacent district councils as to the action they are now taking to stop beer swigging activity in public places in their towns.
