Not Spalding any more
REGARDING immigrants opening shops in Spalding, there seems to be no point in saying anything about these people as the government, judges and human rights do-gooders all seem to be on their side.
As for the police saying they are satisfied with this new store – that is out of order.
What are they doing for us other than filling empty shops? They are bringing all their own goods from Eastern Europe.
When I do come into town I now feel I just want to do what I have to and get out as quick as possible. Spalding is not Spalding any more.
Just one other point. How come this Government is telling all us OAPs that we have to pay more for our keep – and yet these people can come into this country and get full benefits straight away?
I have just read in a national newspaper about a migrant that has got housing benefits of £23,575.
I never got thiswhen I was in full-time work, doing 12-hour shifts.
I was never out of work as I did any job to keep my home and my family fed and clothed, and paid all the bills.
All I have seen in the last 30 years is this country being sold down the river. What a waste of two wars and life.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 01:49 PM@38 and 39. I'm afraid thats the mentality of some people around here. Its only because they're not used to it. They'll get over it eventually. The dont want to even hear that you are a good contributor for society, a lot of them just want all 'immigrants' out. And I think you'll find that because its the internet, even those without a backbone will slide out from under their rock to state their opinions.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 08:40 AMYou know what to do if you don't like it! We didn't ask you to come here you were forced upon us by the government or should I say dictatorship. Maybe if immigrants made more of an effort to fit in and get on with the locals, abide by our laws, speak English more when in public (and not just when you want something) etc. Rather than try and take over our towns and treat them as dustbins and toilets, Then MAYBE you would get less resentment from the local people.

Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 12:01 PMwhat grants for cars? what council houses??? how many immigrants do you know who get council houses or 'grants for cars' I live here for 6 years, and I am Polish! Knowing big part of Polish people here and around area I don't know ANYBODY who's got a council house!! Not even one family or one single person!! I don't know anyone who would claim benefits for family, where they would still be living in Poland (we are often accused of this too) I am not saying this does not happen at all, but be reasonable, how often?? When one very truthful newspaper writes story about one person, (maybe not even true) why does if have to be attributed to all Eastern Europeans?

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 02:55 PMBTW love the phrase "do-gooders " as an insult - the opposite must be a "do-badder" - I'd much rather do good than bad - whatever the anti-PC brigade say!

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 01:53 PM@34 The march was cancelled. the organisers felt talking would be more productive as a march would end in a bloodbath. Talks would lead to a long-term solution to their worries and a march would happen, explode into violence, cause bad blood for a while and then be forgotten about. Marches are useless, pointless are ignored by the authorities and achieve nothing - look at the EDL - completely ignored now, 1005 irrelevant.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:01 AMEverywhere you go people are voicing the same opinions about the immigration levels and the way they sem to get beneficial treatment, what happened to the march at boston that was being planned was this hushed up ? the politicians do not want to acknowledge the problem after al it does not affect them they do not work in the communities affected

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 08:16 AM@23 The only reason "I don't like it round here anymore" is because of the backward small town attitudes to immigration. I moved to Peterborough where it's more open-minded and more 21st century. When I come back at weekends the town ventres (especially Holbeach) are dead - there are no foregin people or locals on the street and the shops are all closing down - it's nothing to do with immigration, it's the natural evolution away from the high street we are seeing nationally - internet shopping, out of town shopping, more freedom of transport to get to Peterborough etc for a night out. The towns aren't dying because of immigration, they are dying because your young people are abandoning them for the big cities - where there's even more immigration as it happpens!

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 06:08 PMread my posts. I've never said its alway been this bad. I said its always been rubbish. Ok, back in the day pre-invasion we didnt have it like this but you still had loads of horrible people wanting to cause fights and its wasn't just a SpaldingBoston thing, some people just wanted to have a fight so they just beat a random person up. Nice!, there was drinking on the streets (not as much but there was) and its was English people. Spitting was really bad about 10yrs ago (b4 the invasion). The deficating thing I agree with. But again my arguement here is that not all the immigrants are doing it. The view from SOME of the people on here is to kick them all out. All i'm saying is only kick out the ones that dont play by the rules. As much as i'd like to be an ambassador for my entire generation, i cant really answer your last point. All I know is the place has been pretty rubbish as far back as I can remember. But i admit it has got worse recently

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 03:35 PMsorry akaleesh for you to say spalding has always been like this it has not i was born and bread in spalding and years ago the worst thing that would happen in spalding on a saturday night was fights with spalding boys agains boston we did not walk round spalding drinking and throwing beer cans bottles swearing and gobbin and crappin all over. so if you say it has always been like this it must be your generation that started the dicline of spalding.

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 03:26 PM@27 Certain words immediately quarantine the message until we can check over it. Your misspelling of sleuths produced a four-letter combination which is on that list (it should have an E in it!)
