No problem with marina if it will benefit villagers
As a long-time resident of this village I have no problem in the construction of a marina or in fact any business that will benefit all, and I mean all, of the residents of Sutton Bridge.
Any project such as the marina should have fully accountable financing with no calls on either the district or county councils.
The business plan should be scrutinised to ensure that the forecasts of benefits to business and jobs created within the village will be fully justified.
I trust the head of enterprise has already made extensive comparisons with the viability of marinas already in operation at Wisbech, Boston and Fosdyke to assess the impact of both jobs and benefits generated to the shops and businesses within these towns and village.
In view of problems occurring after the completion of recent major projects I would assume that all aspects have been fully investigated prior to the publication of any business plan.
