Limited options for cemetery

I write with regard to the article about a proposed new cemetery or cemetery extension at Sutton Bridge.

At no time did I suggest that a cemetery/extension would be appropriate in either the Princes Street Playing Field or the Bowls Green at Sutton Bridge – both sites would be most unsuitable.

I was merely drawing attention, when the matter was discussed, to the fact that the only land which can be used in the short term is that which has not been “farmed” or “tilled” in the previous decade, thus pointing out that the option of a “strip” on the east side of the Memorial Park at Sutton Bridge may prove to be the only option.

Any option will need to be subject to a parish meeting.
