In eyes of the beholder
IF only those who comment on sculpture would stop expecting it to look like something else.
Instead, concentrate on it as an object in its own right.
The new piece of public art on the riverbank is, to my eyes, a joy to see.
The graceful lines of the solids and the beautiful spaces in between those solids must surely be pleasing to the sense of sight. The smooth texture and finish of the material must add a further element to the total sensation.
My one regret is that I cannot reach it to touch such an apparently tactile piece of work.
The way the shapes relate to one another and the simple, unfussy completeness of the whole thing make it extremely satisfying.
Thank you sculptor.
