Eyesore greets parade visitors

Dreadful views greet people travelling into Spalding from the A16/A1073 roundabout on the B1173 towards Little London – fly-tipping, graffiti and two burnt-out warehouses.

This weekend Spalding stages its 50th annual flower parade. Is this really the first impression of our town we want to give our visitors?

The sheds have stood like this since they were destroyed by fire 18 months ago. Not only are they an eyesore, but also a health hazard.

Hand-painted signs warn: "Danger Asbestos".

Particles of asbestos are blown on the wind in all directions – not ideal for those living locally. Action needs to be taken.
