Bring back our loo attendants

EACH week I visit Spalding and park in the Sheep Market car park and then go and do my shopping.

On Saturday, June 20, I paid a visit to the Sheep Market toilets.

In the past this has been a pleasure on the account of the level of cleanliness.

This time was a nightmare.

The floor was filthy, three of the toilets had no seats, and the bottoms of the pans were green and the basin had never seen a cleaning agent for weeks.

In this day and age when we are trying to keep infections down, especially among children and old people, this is a disgrace.

I cannot understand the mentality of the council to say they cannot afford to pay for a toilet attendant any more.

Surely it will cost the council more to keep the toilets in good repair as no-one will be on site to keep the vandals at bay.

So please bring back the toilet attendants or does the council think we would all like a holiday at the Pilgrim Hospital?
