WHEN I was match secretary for Whaplode Tennis Club, from 1935 to 1938, we played matches against other clubs at Holbeach St Johns, Whaplode Drove, Gedney Hill, Long Sutton, Holbeach (two clubs), Gedney Drove End, Pinchbeck and Monks House Spalding.
Have we become a nation of watchers rather than players?
