Woman dies 12 days after crash

A Kirton woman who was injured in a road accident on January 8 has died.

Margaret James (75), of Willington Road, was a passenger in a car that was in collision with a lorry on the A1139 Fletton Parkway westbound, close to the junction with A1260 Nene Parkway, in Peterborough, at about 8.45am on January 8.

She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital before being subsequently discharged.

However, she was admitted to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston on January 11 and died on January 20.

A 53-year-old Wisbech man, who was driving the lorry was not injured, and a 69-year-old Lincolnshire man, who was driving the car, received minor injuries.

Sgt Nigel Jennings, who is investigating the accident, said: “I would urge anyone who saw the crash, or either of the vehicles just prior, to get in touch.”
