Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian died when he was hit by a car on the A16 at Cowbit.

The collision happened just before 7.30pm on Saturday evening and involved a blue Audi A4 driven by a 32-year-old man from Peterborough.

Police are still trying to trace the relatives of the victim, a man in his early twenties, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone who was in the area of the A16 at Cowbit just before 7.30pm on Saturday yesterday evening and saw either the blue Audi or the pedestrian before the collision is asked to contact police on 101, quoting this incident number 310 of December 28.

The road was closed until the early hours of Sunday morning whilst police carried out their initial investigation.
