Winter has well and truly arrived in South Holland judging by this picture postcard scene of Holbeach town centre.

Temperatures as low as -1 degree celsius was predicted over the weekend, although weather forecasters warned it would feel several degrees colder because of wind chill.

There was also the prospect of up to ten centimetres of snow and drivers were advised to make essential journeys only.
