Weston model misses out on Miss England spot

WESTON model Katy Worth won't make the final of Miss England this year.

But the experience of mixing her modelling career with her nursing studies is one she's enjoying tremendously.

Katy (21) came second in the Miss Professional heat of the nationwide competition at Barnsdale Lodge near Oakham, losing out to a doctor from Macclesfield.

But Katy, who was the Lincolnshire Free Press Look of 2008 winner and reached the final of Miss England last year, enjoyed the experience and looked stunning in a dress, lent to her by Fancy Frox in Spalding.

Katy is in the final year of her third year of her nursing studies at Nottingham University.

She spends time training between Lincoln County Hospital and Boston Pilgrim, and said: "Obviously the whole idea is to get through, but the main thing I enjoy is meeting new people and making a lot of friends through it.

"I am doing quite well at the moment, spending time here, there and everywhere in both careers.

"I was disappointed but I don't feel like a let-down, and I enjoy it whether I get through or not."
