Van Gogh spotted in Lincolnshire village?

FROM the painter of Sunflowers, The Starry Night and Self-Portrait we give you......Jobson's Bridge!

Yes, famous post-impressionist Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh has been spotted on the banks of the Vernatt's Drain at Pode Hole adding to his portfolio of work - 119 years after his death.

Of course, this isn't Van Gogh, but Anthony Edmonds, one of a group of protestors against the replacement of Jobson's Bridge at Pode Hole.

According to Mr Edmonds, who donned a bloody bandage but stopped short of slicing his own ear off in his mimicry, if Van Gogh had been around today he would have painted the bridge.

Lincolnshire County Council plan to replace the bridge with a 150,000 metal structure.

Design for new bridge is "best solution" says council.
