UPDATE 4pm: Long Sutton crash

Police investigating a road crash at Long Sutton this morning now say a biker’s injuries are “more serious than first thought”.

The A1101 near the McDonald’s roundabout has been closed for a second time while accident investigation officers re-examine the scene.

Police are asking any drivers who stopped at the accident scene, but didn’t pass on their details, to contact them on the collision witness hotline number, 01522 558855.

• A 56-year-old Kirton man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following this morning’s crash at Long Sutton.

A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Norfolk has suffered leg and hand injuries (see below).

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on the hotline 01522 558855.

• 9am: A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital in King’s Lynn following this morning’s crash near the McDonald’s roundabout at Long Sutton. An air ambulance was summoned but the injured man, believed to be from Norfolk and in his 20s, was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

Police closed the A1101 Long Sutton to Wisbech road near its junction to the roundabout.

The accident happened at 6.45am.

The crash involved a Honda 125 motorbike and a silver Land Rover.
