A Bourne man accused of arson at a flat in the town is set to face trial later this year.

James Francis (28) denied a charge of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court yesterday (Monday).

The charge follows a fire on New Years’ Day at Francis’ former home in a flat above a hairdressers’ in Abbey Road, Bourne.

Francis was granted conditional bail to live at an address in Edinburgh Crescent, Bourne, and the case was adjourned for trial on a date to be fixed.
