Time to show you love where you live

Wednesday, 4pm - STUDENTS are being challenged with the task of designing a poster to boost Spalding's clean-up campaign.

A team of campaigners has organised two large-scale clean-up days on July 4 and 11 in the town centre as part of drive to make Spalding a more atteactive place to visit.

They have also teamed up with Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce to boost pride in the town beyond the two tidy-ups and will ask pupils to make a poster to spread their message.

Prizes will be handed out to winners in the five to 11, 11 to 15 and 16 to 18 ages categories.

The winners of the younger two age ranges will pick up 50 vouchers from Crescent store Bookmark which have been donated by Maples and Calthrops Solicitors.

The 16 to 18 year old winner will spend a day with graphic design company M and C Design and will work with professionals to make a T-shirt with their winning designs on.

Runners up get 25 vouchers at Bookmark, donated by Robert Goddard and the store.

Entrants should design an A4 poster with a strapline and be handed in to Bookmark with the name, address and contact telephone number of each artist and school printed on the back by August 14.

A display of all entries will be made in Bookmark's window and the winning pictures will be used around the town to raise the profile of the campaign.
