Thanks to loyal Frank for 20 years work on appeal
A retiring member of the Holbeach Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) was thanked for his 20 years' service.
Frank Sauntson (83), of The Sidings, started helping with the RAFA Wings Appeal with his wife Jean in 1989, with further involvement with the group seeing him take on the role of welfare officer.
A staunch fundraiser, Frank would often be out raising money for the Wings Appeal at the Farm Cafe, off the A17 in Holbeach, every weekend from Good Friday right through to Battle of Britain weekend in September.
He decided to retire from his role in the group as it was becoming a bit too demanding and he was presented with a commemorative plate by branch chairman Bernard Storey and welfare officer Mick Stafford.
A letter had already been sent to the Sauntsons from South Holland and Deepings MP John Hayes congratulating them on their achievements with the group.
Frank said: "I think I did a good job for the branch and I think they are going to miss me! We're still involved in the Royal British Legion and the Friends of Patchett Lodge so we are still keeping ourselves busy."
