UPDATE MONDAY 10AM: A 17-year-old girl from Gedney is in hospital with a broken arm after she was hit by a car on the A17 at the weekend.

The teenager was crossing the road when she was hit by a Seat Alhambra near the Beijing Palace Chinese restaurant in Gedney just after 5.30pm on Friday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the girl was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, for treatment.

A section of the A17 was closed and diversions were in place for more than three hours while emergency services worked at the scene, with the road finally being reopened at about 9.20pm.

There were no injuries to the driver and passengers in the Seat.

ATURDAY 4.30PM: One person has been taken to hospital by air ambulance after a crash on the A17 in Gedney on Friday evening.

It happened near the Beijing Palace restaurant and the road was closed for a period of time while the vehicle involved was recovered.

There are no details yet on the person injured or his condition.
