Students in Holbeach celebrated becoming the first people at the town's University of Lincoln campus to earn a new taste testing qualification.
The pioneering Sensory Evaluation course was accredited by the Institute of Food Science and Technology in February and 17 students at the Park Road campus took an exam in the foundation level qualification in April. All 17 passed and 11 achieved a credit for getting marks higher than 70 per cent.
The course makes use of the campus' top of the range food testing resources, which are used by many food manufacturing firms in the area.
Lecturer in Sensory Science Linda McWatt said: "This is a nationally-recognised qualification and raises the profile of the work we do here as we are one of only three centres in the UK to offer this course."
