Stephen Bailey

Father-of-two Stephen Bailey, who died suddenly on a 24-hour ferry crossing to Spain, has been described by his wife as a dedicated worker who doted on his children.

Mr Bailey (38), of Tongue End, died from a blood clot on his lung on Saturday, December 15, 2007, as he travelled to Spain as an ambassador for Swineshead haulage company Freshlinc Ltd, who he often worked with through his own companies Stepley Ltd and S&S Transport.

YOUR TRIBUTES:

Stephen was the best brother in the world, and anyone who knew him will not forget him in a hurry. I hope everyone remembers him with a smile on their face. That is what he would have wanted.

As far as neighbours go many will have differences but there was never a cross word spoken between us and Steve. We have lived next door to Steve and family for 5 years and not only was he a fantastic neighbour he was a great friend. In fact he was more like family, he was someone who would always help out if he could, and had a heart of gold. I will miss the diggers in and out of the drive and the sound of him talking on the phone, which to all that knew him was his trade mark, one phone to his ear and one in his pocket ringing. Steve was a genuine bloke and we will miss him dearly, love to all his family

I would just like to extend my deepest sympathies to Steve's family. My father, Laurence Higgins, who was killed in November, actually worked for Steven for a couple of weeks in between his job at George Adams and his new job at QV Foods. From what i understand from my mother, Dad was a good friend of Steven's and had known him for many years.

I can only offer my apologies and that i know what they are going through, and should they need any help with anything, not to hesitate to get in touch with myself or my mum.

Keep him close to your heart and never stop believing that hes always with you.

With love

Claire Higgins
