South Holland is feeling the love all over the country today as romantics purchase Pinchbeck-grown tulips in all colours for their Valentines.

The Butters Group, based in Spalding, has supplied a total of half a million tulips grown by Lambs Flowers, primarily in red, but purple and cerise are popular too.
Traditional red is still the colour of choice, says group business development manager Jo Pearson, who says flowers are sent to Interflora, Waitrose and Flying Flowers.
Roses are still a favourite and Butters has turned quarter of a million Colombian red roses into bouquets. Both flowers should last a week – the love a little longer!
