Soot causes chimney fire in Deeping St Nicholas

A fire crew using specialist equipment dealt with a chimney fire in Deeping St Nicholas earlier today.

It happened out a house in Main Road, Hop Pole, just after 9am when Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue were called about a chimney on fire.

A crew from Crowland used specialist chimney gear, thermal imaging cameras and a nine-metre ladder to put out the fire which was caused by a build-up of soot in the chimney.
