Sign up for next month's Radar Challenge

RUNNERS, riders and walkers are being sought to take place in an unusual charity event later this year.

The Radar Challenge includes a 3km fun run, 10km road race and 12km cycle ride plus a 5km sponsored walk, all on the new A1073 road before it opens.

The event, planned March 21, has been organised by the Rotary Club of South Holland, Spalding Lions, Spalding Cycle Club and Nene Valley Harriers, in conjunction with Lincolnshire County Council and Morgan Est, which is building the road.

Entry for all the events is limited and the closing date is March 14. No entries will be accpeted on the day.

All participants will be asked to collect sponsorship - half of which they can donate to a charity of their choice while the remainder will go to support Rotary and Lions' charities, Macmillan Nurses and local diabetes awareness.

* Entry for all the events, except the 10km road race, is 2.50 for people aged 16 and over and free for those under, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Running club members will pay 8 to enter the 10km road race, otherwise the fee is 10.
