Students at Spalding Priory School are going quackers with excitement ahead of the weekend’s People’s Parade.

The school supported the annual Spalding Flower Parade until the final one last year and jumped at the chance of taking part.

For this new venture the school acquired a float in the shape of a duck.

Year 11 pupils and staff have decorated it and plenty of volunteers , including staff, and lined up to push it around town.

The walking parade of decorated trolleys will set off from Sir John Gleed School and head for town about 1pm.

As well as students and staff from the Priory School, others decorating trolleys include Baytree Garden Centre, the ATC, Black Pearl Theatre, Deeping St Nicholas School, Spalding Primary School, the Priory School, Sir John Gleed School, Definitions Health and Fitness Gym, LIVES and Accountancy Plus.

A host of events have been been organised for the main site at the school from 11am to 5pm, including a bouncy castle.

l See Thursday’s Spalding Guardian for more details.
