Record exam results celebrated
Gleed Boys' students who left in the summer were praised for producing the Spalding school's best ever GCSE results at their Achievement Evening.
Many of the 140 boys and their families came back to school and the evening's speaker had also returned – retired assistant headteacher turned author Theo Stibbons was there to present the awards.
Present headteacher Geoff Cowley said afterwards: "The aim was to congratulate the students on their record performance last year and the theme was that they should move forward and continue to strive to achieve in whatever they are doing now."
More than half of the students (55 per cent) achieved five or more A* to C grades at GCSE and 41 per cent achieved five or more A* to C grades, including English and Maths. Each student received awards for his performance.
Guest speaker Mr Stibbons retired from Gleed Boys' School last year after 37 years' service to the school.
