Pupils will not 'tyre' of new play area

Teachers at a Holbeach school are hoping its new play area is one students will never "tyre" of.

Holbeach Primary School's new play area features a massive climbing frame made of tyres, which have been supplied by companies in Wolverhampton.

It was officially opened before half-term and cost about 2,000.

Funding for the project was supplied by the school's Parent, Teacher and Friends' Association.

Plans for an 8,000 scientific play area designed for educational fun are also in the pipeline.

It is expected to be completed within six weeks and will revitalise a previously dilapidated area of the school grounds.

Headteacher Sue Boor said: "We have done a lot of work on internal enhancement of the school recently and now it is time to look at the external environment.

"The tyre area is a bit like and obstacle course and it has gone down really well with students."
