Pupils' efforts help to make a difference

The Lincolnshire Free Press Children's Fund has received a boost thanks to generous youngsters at a village school.

Pupils at Gosberton Clough and Risegate Primary School have raised 158 through their annual Christmas raffle.

Headteacher Alan Hughes said: "Each Christmas the children hold a raffle in aid of various charities.

"Prizes are donated by the staff and there are usually two or three raffles in the closing weeks of term.

"In previous years we have bought gifts for the children's ward at Boston's Pilgrim Hospital and even bought a bed so parents can stay overnight with their child.

"We were delighted to read that the Lincolnshire Free Press has founded a local children's charity so we added our raffle money to the generous donations from parents and friends at our Christmas carol service at Clough Chapel.

"We hope that in our own small way we might help to make a difference."
