Pupils sell their work

YOUNG artists' work was framed and sold in the first art gallery of its kind at Quadring Primary School.

Teachers set all 113 pupils the challenge of creating original art work.

Reception and years five and six had a free choice while years one and two followed the theme of the seaside and years three and four worked on pictures of Egypt.

The works were sent off to a company called Images who packaged them professionally for a gallery at the school for parents to buy.

And it proved very popular as they snapped up more than half the pictures, so far raising more than 100 for the school.

Arts and crafts teacher Rachel McDermid said: “We have still got some art that has not been sold yet, so we are hoping to raise more.

“We will probably leave it a couple of years and then do it again because it proved very popular.”
